Entomica is a place where visitors can discover the fascinating, hidden and often misunderstood world of insects through live interactive displays. Guests will be guided by helpful and knowledgeable staff, whose enthusiasm and love of insects is palpable (no pun intended)!

A community garden is a place where people with a passion for community, gardening and delicious food come together to cultivate and harvest in a safe, inclusive and friendly environment. Community gardens are community builders!

Northern Community Pollinator Project

Funded by Telus and the World Wildlife Fund, the Northern Community Pollinator Project was a collaboration between DNDG, Entomica, Mill Market, and the Canal District Communistic Garden. This ongoing project features a model pollinator gar and pollination education.

Superior Skills & Work Co.

The Superior Skills Program teaches upwardly mobile employment skills through integrative training programs layered within Destination North. Our training program recruits individuals from the Social Services community and provides intensive, contextualized skills training in specific training waves with the aim to create a confident, goal-oriented, and skilled work force.

Searchmont Resort Revitalization

Working in collaboration with the SSAI, the EDC and Searchmont Resort's Management Team, Destination North has been at Searchmont for two seasons helping to reinvigorate Algoma's favourite winter hideaway.

Mill Memory Project

Destination North, in association with the Virtual Museum of Canada, is beginning work on an exciting online history project celebrating the industrial heritage of Sault Ste. Marie. The Mill Memory Project will explore the history of the structures, and their transformation for modern use in words, photographs and audio and video recording.
